Re: Yamaha Drums

To be fair, the line has only been readily available for only about 4-5 months...I did just read a very good review of them in the latest "modern drummer" issue...it was a very favorable review of...

Re: Yamaha Phoenix (PHX) Drums

That's my favorite PHX finish....I may have to sell my BCA to get it, but hopefully one day I'll own a PHX kit in that finish....

Re: Yamaha Drums

Yep...Agree!...Yamaha's high end spurs are the best in the business!...wouldn't trade them for any other ones that come to mind...

Re: Yamaha Drums

They're also at a much lower price point...I find the new stage customs to be quite the bang for the buck....really puzzled by some comments stating that they're not absolutes...or course they're...

Re: YAMAHA QC fail! ☹

Yep absolutely agree!!... Jim and the other staff at yamaha are top notch...my 1st 8" apple sparkle MCA Tom didn't quite match the rest of kit..all it took was one phone call to Greg C. at yamaha...

Re: Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

Re: Switching brands

On my MCA's I've used G2, Gplus, G14 (all coated), EC2 SST (both coated & clear) on toms, GMAD on kick ... For the toms I like EC2's best with the Gplus a close second ....

Re: Yamaha Chinese YESS Mount

Pretty certain they're the same as original Yess mounts on MIJ MCA's, BCA's.....I've never had any issues with my Yess mounts, and I have the large 14" & 16" mounted toms, as well as 8", 10" & 12"...

Re: Quality of new Chinese Yamahas?

Agree with others here....I own MIJ yamaha MCA & BCA and regularly play the new MIC live customs...the Chinese made Yamaha's are top notch ....and the stage customs have either been made in Indonesia...

Re: Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

Like them both...but if I had to choose, I'd prolly suspend them...for me they (suspended) always end up where I want them (i.e., everything's preset & locked on rack)... Where with floor toms I'm...

Re: Yamaha Drums

Definition of custom -
1. Made to order.
2. Specializing in the making or selling of made-to-order goods: a custom tailor.

Re: Yamaha Drums

Congrats!..Cherrywood is a beautiful finish..when I bought my BCA's back in the early 2000's, that was the only finish I would consider for it...classic Yamaha finish! ...

Re: Tight screws for yamaha

As long as the SC lugs will permit / allow an additional 7mm of length inside the lug then I don't see that this would be a problem ....you could take one lug off, tighten the lug screw into where it...
