Re: Lost with all the Zoom recorders

Been reading since I made the topic, narrowed it down to the Q3HD. decided I want video too, so the h4n is out, and the q2hd is out as well since it has a few less features than the q3. I can afford...

Re: Lost with all the Zoom recorders

if I check out other brands I'll be even more lost, haha. just looking for suggestions, even a strong "go for the ____ because of this and that" will be good for me. I don't mind the brand.

thanks...

Lost with all the Zoom recorders

happy new year everyone!

I'm thinking about buying a Zoom recorder, since I know recording one's self is a good way to improve. I just have no idea which one to go for.

the h4n seems nice but...

Re: am i the only one who doesn't like pearl?

I hate the way their entry level drumsets look/sound. That powertom/22" kick obsession they have, along with the terrible tom mounts, makes for a bunch of damn ugly kits. And they sound/tune way...

Re: G. L. Stone Stick Control PDF?

almost off-topic, but I love how pages like Amazon etc give samples of the first few pages of a book, so that you "know" what you're buying.
for Stick Control, those sample pages are usually 5-7....

Re: Advice on Mapex Black Panther Sledgehammer drum head?

μπέρνη, I have a 14x6.5 Mapex Brass snare (not a panther, it's a series before the panthers came out called just "Professional"). It had an Ambassador on when I bought it (used), muffled with a bit...

Re: Help a beginner - picking a kit

Can't go wrong with either.
I'm a Tama lover for life and they offer amazing entry-level kits, but Mapex is probably the best value-for-money company out there right now (their Black Panther snares...

Re: STICK CONTROL (George L Stone) Your experiences and suggestions

I started this the way jazzsnob suggested, really slow (100bpm, eighths)
two questions:

at that speed should I do doubles with finger snapping? or just wrist motions?
and
I've always played...

Re: 20" HHX studio ride at MF - 179.00

I worship anything that says HHX on it and I'd buy it without even hearing the sound.
Bummer that MF doesn't ship to Europe.

Re: How did Keith Moon play?

wow, many Moon fans here, and they are probably 10 times better drummers than I am, so I'll just shut up lol.

...or not.
he was sloppy and I don't get the hype *runs away*

Re: why do people use bass drum raisers...

Re: why do people use bass drum raisers...

thanks for the link.

neither thomann nor my local retailer have the 9908 you used; they both have the 9909 which is damn expensive.
the gibraltar one and every other similar lifter looks like it...

Re: why do people use bass drum raisers...

thanks guys.

I mainly play fast music and I've found that small bass drums offer great rebound on almost any tuning, that's why my favorites are 18" and 20". I always played my 18" with the beater...

why do people use bass drum raisers...

...instead of cutting the beater at the low end?

I'm using a 18" bass drum and I'm thinking of doing the latter, stop me before it's too late

Re: New! Official Guru In-Tense snare comparison video :)

The snare that is being played starting at 00:11 of the video has the ideal sound for me. Amazing. Is it the same as the one on 03:06? Doesn't sound the same on any tuning, but looks the same.

/e...

Re: Any other drummers lift weights? Need advice

this.

and try to do exercises with dumbbells; when you do stuff like tricep pushdown, where you hold a bar with both your hands, your stronger arm usually "leads" the exercise and takes more...

Re: Second hand kit

You have to be more specific about the cymbal models. The Sabian Ride can be either a B8 and cost 50 dollars, or a Vault Artisan and cost... well, much more.
Same with the bass pedals. Same with...

who can identify this black panther for me?

Size is 13x6. The seller wants 200 (around 275 dollars) for it.
Couldn't find anything by googling, it's possible that he made a depth mistake.
Can anyone identify which model it is? And if so, is...
