Re: catalina club rock

It's philippine mahogany. Cheaper stuff but still sounds decent. I've got a Club Mod kit form 07 made from the same wood. One good thing about it is it's really light, easier on the back when...

Re: Mark Guiliana

If it's what I think it is, it's not the full length album yet, just an EP.

You can get it here: http://rockwoodmusichall.com/site2/10-mark-guiliana-beat-music.html

It seems there some type of...

Re: Giving up the double pedal...

You're right, the hi-hat doesn't need to suffer, it just often does for many players. You, most likely, you are someone who knows how to properly incorporate both. As for me, I don't feel the need...

Re: Giving up the double pedal...

I gave up my double pedal about a year ago and haven't looked back. I just traded it for a nice set of turkish hats, actually. I'd been lugging it around for years without really using it much.

Re: Drumming notation needs a face lift!

I understand your argument for IVN vs standard drum notation, but coming up with a new drum notation that is as versatile, expressive and accurate as the current standard is just not practical. ...

Re: Drum Solos and why you like them, or not

I think there is a real difference between playing the drums solo and playing a drum solo.

I tend to think of drum solos as ridiculous crowd pleasers while playing the drums solo is more akin to...

Re: Best heads for new yamaha stage custom?

I got the same kit a few weeks ago. I love them and think the natural wood finish is beautiful.

The snare was decent and I would still be using it if my Acrolite didn't sound so good.

As far...

Re: How do people get such big kits?

I played the same crappy entry level kit from the time I was 12 to 27, buying only heads, sticks and a crash cymbal here or there only when I broke one and absolutely needed a replacement. And even...

Re: Hatch backs/small cars that fit drums

You can fit a standard size kit into pretty much any of today's modern hatchbacks.

I've got a '05 Kia Spectra 5 that I can fit my kit and a passenger in with room to spare.

Re: Did they stop making 20" bass drums?

I had to fight to get my kit with a 20" bass drum. I ended up driving from one GC to another across town who said they had it, then i didn't have it, then did have it after all.

They are not...

Re: 22 x 20 Bass Drum

I have a 22 x20 on my catalina club mod.

Pros: Loud and can project very well and sound amazing when tunned properly.

Cons: Not very versatile. Playing at lower volumes yields kind of flappy...

Re: Took a bite from an Apple

What would you expect customer service to do? If the data is gone, it's gone. In the end it's the user's responsibility to back it up in the first place. This is the way it is with all computers...

Re: Took a bite from an Apple

Of course this wasn't a problem because you had all of this valuable data backed up. You did back up, didn't you?

I grew up on Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Autechre, ect, and continue to listen to any other artists that peek my interest. I love the genre. It takes rhythm to entirely new levels.

As far as...
