Rather than bump the old thread, I decided to start up a new one.
I finally had the chance to upgrade some of my gear, and I will also soon be replacing one of my crashes (free set of air drums if you can guess which crash :P). Expect some pics when I get the new stuff. For those who posted in the other thread of my kit...you'll be happy to know the angles have dropped. :)

Thanks. And yeah, forgot to mention that..it's a 16" a Zildjian Thin Crash. I got it off of Ebay new for $100. I'll add it to the specs. Thanks for pointing that out.

How do you like you're powerstroke 3 kick? I have one and i love it...i like the falam patch too because it gives extra punch. Also do you like the remo emperors because im planning on getting some for my kit this weekend.

I love the PS3 with the Falam Patch combo. I think it sounds fantastic.

I like the Emperors, but you have to spend a bit of time to tune them. If you sit down and take the time to tune them, you'll thank yourself for putting in the extra time. They sound great once they're tuned good.

You'll be wicked happy you did. It's worth the extra time. I've heard them tuned good on entry level kits and they still sounded great.

Nice going there Ege. That configuration is a classic, for a good reason. Everything's easy to reach. I do find it somewhat ironic that the heaviest crash managed to break and the other's didn't. I've always said heavier cymbals are more prone to breaking. Have you ever had any problems with tom positioning? When I had large toms I always found setup to be a real pain.

Go go power toms!!!

Nice looking kit mate. Gor for the A custom projection crash for a replacement. Great sounding cymbal, very cutting sound but it can be lovely and shimmery if rode on.

Yeah I found that ironic too. And to add more to that, I use the medium and the thin crashes more than I use the heavy crash. But with the crack, the heavy crash now has a fast "swish" effect. It actually sounds good (as an effect cymbal :P).

And yeah I've had a few problems with tom postitioning. Because they're so big (and I'm so short :P) I have to have them low to the bass drum, and they tend to touch the lugs on the bass drum and when I played those toms, they would rattle against the lugs. So I rose them up a bit and that eliminated the rattling (and I actually found it a bit more comfortable).

@radeq, you're right. The sound is HUGE. :)

Re: things i wouldnt like to happen when playing

what i wouldnt like to happen while playin the drumms is when you get tired unnecesarilly and all of a sudden d sticks start falling off ur hand and u struggle with hitting a double strokes on the pedal, its so ridiculous.

I like the kit... and I was gonna buy a powerstroke 3 for my bass drum, but then you said that you were gonna get a different head, and I was wondering what it was called... powersunting.

Thanks dude and the head is called a Powersonic. All it is is an EMAD with Remo logo on it. They should be out by mid-November I think.

It looks a bit like my (basic) setup too.

you guys were talking about the PS3 with the falam slam. I have it on my gretsch too. What do you put in your kick to muffle the sound? (big/small pillow? small blanket?)

YEA COATED EMPERORS
Love these heads...got them on my Pacific MX and WOW what a sound!
They do need a good amount of time to tune though, but oh well.
