We finally moved to a new hoster!

Memories. As a kid, if our 56K modem reported 49.2K connection speed, you knew it was about to fail. If it connected at 48K, it would be perfectly stable.

Then we got broadband (1 MBPS) I think and managed that for about 3 weeks until we had a lightning strike on the house (I was in the kitchen and saw the lightning arc over the window). It set the burglar alarm off and fried the new router. I was gutted. We got a replacement fortunately so I was back to playing Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast again...

I never would have thought it could be worse than Germany, but here you are.
I live in a fairly remote location, so it’s not surprising we’re one of the last to get a fibre connection. Doesn’t make it any more palatable though.

My daughter lives in the next village, & she has a great connection. Even though Herefordshire is a very rural county, most here have fibre. I’m hoping they get to our outpost soon!
